A Fall Weekend Bringing Families Together Through Fun and Imagination
On November 7, 2025, Cub Scouts, families, and Packs stepped into a world of magic as R-BOO-C transformed R-C Scout Ranch into a realm of sorcerers, enchantresses, and Halloween wonder. Cubs delighted in a variety of magical and hands-on activities, including:
- Halloween-themed adventures and creative challenges
- Alchemy enchantments that sparked curiosity and imagination
- BB guns and archery, where young marksmen practiced their aim
- Crawdads in the Creek of Secrets, a fan-favorite for our young explorers
- A charmed chariot ride through the camp
- Delicious feasts prepared with care for 280 hungry participants (Cub Scout youth, families, Arrow of Light youth and families, Staff (13+) and specialty Staff.)
Even with only a third of the usual volunteer team (After a weather-related postponement), the spirit of Scouting carried out the weekend. The energy was high, the fun never stopped, and everyone pitched in to keep the magic alive.
The weekend brought fantastic weather—cool nights that invited families to bundle up just enough to feel cozy without missing a moment of the fun. With this being the last R-BOO-C at R-C Scout Ranch, many families savored each activity with extra enthusiasm. It was a little tiring, very rewarding, and completely unforgettable.
R-BOO-C wouldn’t have been possible without the dedicated volunteers who brought this magical world to life:
- Allona Metcalf (Pack 522)—our new Camp Director and the enchanting “Enchantress of Shadows”, who led the weekend with creativity and heart.
- Trisha Bergman (Troops 3439 & 439)—whose leadership, alongside her Scouts, kept everyone well-fed with tasty meals served.
- Katie Fisher—whose tireless energy and above-and-beyond contributions helped shape an unforgettable experience.
- Jess Rankin, former Camp Director—who jumped back in to lend a helping hand.
Their efforts made this weekend extraordinary.

The Magic Continues in 2026
Although this was the final R-BOO-C hosted at R-C Scout Ranch, the adventure is far from over. R-BOO-C will return in October 2026 at a new location, where the weird, whimsical, and spooky fun will continue!
New Cubs, returning families, and even former Cubs who will be Scouts in a Troop will have opportunities to join in—whether as participants or as part of the staff who help keep this beloved tradition alive.
