Devin Clark Makes History as the Grand Canyon Council’s First Female Lodge Chief, Inspiring Inclusivity, Leadership, and the Next Generation of Scouts

Peoria, AZ — Devin Clark of Troop 505, proudly chartered with American Legion Post 94, has made history as the first female Lodge Chief of Scouting Arizona, Grand Canyon Council’s Wipala Wiki Lodge. Her election marks a milestone for inclusivity and leadership within the Order of the Arrow (OA) and the broader Scouting community.

A Journey of Service and Brotherhood
From her first Ordeal to serving on committees, Devin’s experience in the Order of the Arrow has been shaped by cheerfulness, service, and brotherhood. She was inspired to run for Lodge Chief to give back to an organization that has given her so much. “I realized I had the vision and passion to lead, inspire, and further enhance our lodge’s impact,” she says.
Becoming the first female Lodge Chief is “an incredible honor and a bit surreal,” Devin admits. Her role represents progress, inclusivity, and the opportunity to inspire other young women. “I hope my role encourages girls to step up, lead, and make their voices heard—because our voices matter,” she says. Devin’s focus this year is on engagement, inclusivity, and empowering members to explore their passions. By creating a supportive environment, she aims to help Scouts develop their skills and contribute to the lodge’s mission of service and brotherhood.

Mentorship That Matters
Devin credits her Scoutmaster, Karen Albers, for shaping her leadership style. “Mrs. Albers taught me the importance of servant leadership and encouraged me to take on challenges, even when I doubted myself. Her guidance has made me more empathetic, patient, and supportive as a leader.”
Albers adds, “Devin has been an amazing and inspiring Scout since the beginning of the TrailBlazers pilot program in 2014. She takes on every role with determination and integrity and creates a positive, empowering environment for all Scouts. It’s truly a joy to work with her.”
Inspiring Future Leaders
Devin encourages Scouts to believe in themselves and embrace challenges. “Seek mentors, step outside your comfort zone, and lead with confidence. For young women especially, remember that your voice matters and your perspective is valuable. You can do anything you put your mind to—you got this.”
Devin’s story is a testament to perseverance, vision, and inclusive leadership. As she steps into her historic role, she shows that with courage, mentorship, and passion, the trail to leadership has no limits.
