Two Troop 828 Scouts Earn Eagle Rank Through Wildlife and Community Service Projects
Troop 828, chartered by AZ Pet Vet in Glendale, Arizona, proudly celebrates two new Eagle Scouts: Ethan H. and Ciaran P. Their hard work, leadership, and commitment to service reflect the very best of Scouting.
Helping Injured Raptors Soar Again
Ethan’s Eagle project supported Wild at Heart Raptors, a rehabilitation and release center in Cave Creek. He built custom paneling that, when strapped together, creates temporary crates for injured birds of prey. These crates help the raptors recover safely with the ultimate goal of releasing them back into the wild. Ethan’s contribution ensures that these magnificent birds have a better chance at a second chance in their natural habitat.
Creating a Healing Space for Cancer Patients
Ciaran partnered with Joy Bus Café, a nonprofit using restaurant revenue to fund meal delivery for recovering cancer patients unable to leave home. Alongside his fellow Scouts, Ciaran moved over 6 tons of old river rock, installed 5 tons of gravel, and planted slow-growing, environmentally conscious agave plants in the café’s parking lot. This conservation-focused project not only beautified the space but also created a welcoming environment for the community they serve.
Congratulations to Ethan and Ciaran for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and for making a lasting impact on both wildlife and people in our community!
